ABOUT Link Associates

​​​      Link Associates, Ltd. was established to aid foreign firms in gaining full access to Japanese markets. Its professional staff, all of whom have previously held senior positions in the Japanese government, have the knowledge and experience in government, law, and business necessary to negotiate effectively with Japanese government agencies on behalf of overseas corporate clients.

       In addition to governmental relations consulting, we are engaged in research and analysis, in providing business development services to Japanese and overseas corporate clients, and in conducting government-commissioned research. 

​ABOUT Jun Okawa

     Jun Okawa was a career official with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) for over 13 years, serving as an official in such areas as textiles, energy, industrial structure, and technology promotion, where he formulated industrial policy, conducted negotiations with representatives of government and industry in the United States, and took an active role in Japan's legislative process.



     In 1985, Mr.Okawa was appointed Senior Resercher with the Industrial Policy Institute, a MITI-affiliated think tank, where he conducted reserch on corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other developments in the U.S. business environment.

   His business background includes work in the areas of M&A and financing for a major U.S. investment bank; as a partner in a Los Angeles- and Tokyo-based investment banking firm, consulting on overseas acquisitions and investments for Tokyo Stock Exchange listed Japanese companies; and providing assistance in finding strategic partners to U.S. firms seeking to enter the Japanese market.

     Mr.Okawa graduated from Keio University and holds an MBA degree from the University of Chicago. He has been president of Link Associates since founding the Company in May 1990.
